Settling in

Filed under: Uncategorized — webmaster @ 12:30 am

Well, it’s been 2 1/2 weeks since the kids and I arrived in Austin (my hubbie got there earlier), and we’re loving it! I haven’t experienced a Texan summer yet but  I do know that I LOVE the Texan winters!  We came from 20 below zero to the 70’s. I honestly felt like I cheated but I’m over that now. Okay, I’ll stop now so not to depress all you Alaskans.

It’s been a whirlwind of unpacking and organizing and I still have tons more to do but it’s starting to feel a little normal. I’ve had several requests to give an update since we moved, so here’s a peak…..

Liam is a cat man these days. I don’t know what started it but he’s all about his collection of stuffed animal cats. These are his siamese twins that he got for Christmas.

They couldn’t share one house so I had to make a little neighborhood to relieve the sibling rivalry.

My husband works from home now working for the same company. He claimed that all the junk in the hall to his office was because he was too busy but I think he was trying to booby trap us from his office.

Aiden has had to adjust to school starting a whole hour earlier. Infact, we’ve all had to adjust to this change. We must still be on Alaska time internally.

Meara loves to watch Daddy work.

Notice the 2 binkies. Hmmm… pink or blue?

Mental note : get rid of the binkie!!

Meara’s oral fixations. I swear I happened to have the camera in hand when she desperately begged for another bottle.

Proof that’s she’s a girl and proof that she has brothers.

My kids are all about watching dumb YouTube videos. Here is our favorite this week:

This is Liam watching it. I especially love that the kids on the video are at a photography session. Enjoy.

This beautiful senior was another trooper who braved the winter chill to get some great pics in the snow this past November. We then went to the studio to capture the last few. It’s hard to tell at this size and online (my server dulls all the colors of my images, arrrggghhhh!) but she has the most amazing turquise eyes with yellow in the middle.

I had so much fun with this couple. Watching them, brought up all those giddy newlywed feelings I had for my husband of 8 years. Okay, so that sounds bad, but you know what I mean. This couple was so fun, vibrant and of course in love.  Thanks for braving the fridgid weather guys!

happy

Filed under: Uncategorized — webmaster @ 3:53 am

Things are winding down here for me. I have only 7 more days until I leave this beautiful winter wonderland that I’ve finally learned to love but am now leaving and will always hold close to my heart. All our earthly possesions are now on their way to our new home in Texas. I look forward to flip flops and warm walks in the sun but will miss the beautiful snow covered mountains, frosty trees, long summer days (when they’re sunny), and all my wonderful friends, family and clients up here.

Here’s our Chirstmas card, late of course, but so worth it. I hope your holiday was just as happy.
